Can’t give up

Here’s the lyrics to one of the songs that I wrote today:

Verse one:

When the cold wind blows

And the rain pours down

That’s when you gotta hold on

And He’ll see ya through

Verse two:

When the sunshine seems so…

Far away

That’s when you gotta try

To push through

Don’t give up, don’t give up

You gotta push through even when it’s tough

You can’t fly when you’re not prepared to crash

You can’t move on when you’re fears are holding you back

You can’t give up baby don’t give up

You can’t give up, oh oh

Verse three:

When you start to feel strangled and lost

And you don’t know which way to go

That’s when you gotta start

You’re beautiful

Verse one:

Just remember girl, the next time when you don’t feel beautiful

There was a guy who loved you so much

Who came down- to pursue

To pursue you, his bride (start strumming)

Verse two:

Kids can be, so mean to each other-yeah…oh, yeah

You can remember the first time he called you ugly

You carry that pain and those scars with you for years

If only someone had told you…

Chorus: G, D, Em, C

You are made for so much more, so much more and-

You are beautiful, inside and out my darling

Don’t listen to what they say cuz they see something they want in you

You’re altogether beautiful and flawless!

Now I can see the beauty that’s inside of me

But it doesn’t come from me but Him who lives in me

I know I have much to learn

But I know I have to seek him-first

Cuz I am made for so much more, so much more and-

He said I’m beautiful inside and out

Don’t listen to what they say cuz they see something they want in you

You’re altogether beautiful, my love

Chorus 2:

And I made you just like I meant too, just like I wanted too and-

You are more beautiful than you know

Don’t listen to what they say cuz I’m shaping you into who I want you to be

You are beautiful, my daughter, my child- you’re beautiful

Coffee & Thoughts…

I have officially decided that I love cute little coffee shops (: I love having coffee dates with my best friends. I love sitting in a cute little coffee shop and have a Jesus date with coffee in my hand. I even think it’s a great place to do homework (: Yep…right now I’m sitting in Tim Hortons (which will do for now…) having coffee with one of my besties doing homework and having a date with Jesus (yes…all at the same time…well, sort of).

But anyway…so, it’s spring break! And it snowed last night so there’s quite a bit of snow around 😦 But I’m hoping that this is the last snow for a LONG time. I think it’s supposed to get up to 50 soon, so I’m praying that it will get warm and then stay that way!

^Okay, so that’s boring…who cares about the weather! lol So…

‎”If you can’t find anything beautiful about yourself, get a better mirror. Look a little closer. Stare a little longer.”

I saw the above quote on a status on Facebook. I like it. (: The truth is, ladies, you’re beautifulYou are fearfully and wonderfully made and you are loved and you are made for a purpose! I don’t know about you, but that makes me smile :] If you ladies are like me, you probably look in the mirror and say something like “eww”, and then avoid looking in a mirror for a while, only to go back later and repeat that process. Yeah, I confess I do that a lot! But if I believed what God told me about myself, I wouldn’t do that, would I? God made each of us unique and special. No matter how much I wish I looked like someone else, God didn’t make me like her. He made me look like me. He made me me. And I shouldn’t want to look or be like anyone else, because that’s like a slap in God’s face to say that we aren’t happy with the way that He made us.

God tells us exactly what He thinks of beauty:

“Do not let your adorning be external- the braiding of hair and the putting on of gold jewelry, or the clothing you wear- but let the adorning be the hidden person of the heart with the imperishable beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which in God’s sight is very precious.”

I don’t believe this verse means that we shouldn’t be at all concerned about our outward beauty. I believe that God created women to want to care about their outward appearance (however, I’m sure the fall contributed to our being completely obsessed with the outward beauty, which is not from God). But we should be focusing more on inward beauty because that is what lasts…and if you are not beautiful on the inside, it doesn’t matter how gorgeous a person is on the outside, nobody thinks she is beautiful anymore.

Yeah, so there’s some random thoughts about coffee and beauty (: I really should go back to doing homework now…actually, this is homework for Spiritual Formation, so I don’t feel bad about this! Have an awesome day, Ladies 🙂
