You’re || {B r a v e}

What is courage? What does it mean to be brave or courageous? If I were to guess, you don’t think you’re brave. I can guess that because I feel the same way.

When most people think of being brave, perhaps they think of unwavering strength, always pushing forward without any doubts or fear. Honey, that’s just not realistic and it sure isn’t what it means to be courageous!

There’s a far greater strength and courage out there, and I want to bet that you have it. You strength might not look like anybody else’s. But that’s okay. Instead of being loud and authoritative, your strength might look quiet…to others, it might look like weakness. It’s not.

Courage may simply be stepping out of your comfort zone. It might be a tiny step…one that doesn’t even look like progress to anyone else. People might not understand why that tiny step is so important to you–don’t let them tell you that it’s insignificant. Be excited about it! Even if you were literally shaking because you were so afraid to go into the unknown, you are b r a v e.

I think that the quiet, shaky steps of someone stepping out in faith, even though they are scared to death, is more beautiful and courageous than someone who jumps forward without a second thought. Because it means something to them. They’re terrified, yet they do it anyway! And that, my lovelies, is something to celebrate.

  1. What a beautiful reminder! And we remember more the steps that took a lot of guts to take than the ones we took without thought because they’re usually the defining moments we can only see in hindsight. Stopping by from Coffee For Your Heart 🙂

  2. Yes!!! Courage may simply be stepping out of your comfort zone. It might be a tiny step…one that doesn’t even look like progress to anyone else. As a teambulder, this is exactly what I tell people who think they are not brave. Loved this…dropping in from Coffee for Your heart:)
