How many times have you been tempted to quit your running journey? How many times have you actually quit, only to turn around a few months later and start again? We get frustrated at how long it’s taking with seemingly no progress. Well, maybe it would be good for us all to remember that the time will pass anyway! I know it hurts. I know it’s freaking hard. But the time will pass anyway, you might as well be working towards your goals, rather than allowing the same amount of time slip through your fingers without running and working out.
It is a slow process, as all of you should know by now. But keep going. In the end, it will all be worth it! Progress will happen if you don’t quit. The time will pass anyway.
In what areas are you tempted to quit in life? What are those ‘problem spots’ in life that just make you want to give up and quit? You’re not changing as rapidly as you had hoped. No one else is changing or improving as quickly as you thought they would. You’re losing patience with others and, more importantly, with yourself. Life seems extremely slow at times too, doesn’t it? I know. There have been times when I wanted to quit in the quest of becoming the person that I thought I should be…that I thought God wanted me to be…but, as I said before, the time will pass anyway. Quitting will not speed up the process. It will only delay you farther until you inevitably have to start it back up again…and at a slower pace than if you had just kept going.
So, keep going. Keep running. Keep putting one step in front of the other. Keep thinking about the fact that you ARE making progress, even if you can’t see it yet. Keep changing. Keep praying. Keep thinking. Keep positive. It’s a slow process, but it’s worth it.
